The Old Store on Barnard, a converted historical gold rush store, circa 1870 is a fabulous blend of 150 yr. old character and modern creature comforts. With spacious indoor and outdoor entertaining areas, two bathrooms and generous kitchen, The Old Store accommodation, is your perfect getaway.
Built in the 1870’s to service the booming gold town of Sandhurst (later to be named Bendigo) it stands just 30 metres from its closest mine. The unique layout allows for accommodating up to 13 guests comfortably whilst being close enough to the centre of town to walk and explore.
The Old Store is all about experiencing an escape from the everyday. It’s got a cheeky sense of discovery etched into the walls and well-worn floors. Sit back and enjoy a complimentary port whilst enjoying the great sound of the retro stereo, whether it be in front of the fire or outside on the spacious deck.
The fully equipped kitchen can live up to most demands for service especially those of the entertaining bent, however there is no pressure to cook with multiple pubs and the city centre restaurants within walking distance.
The Old Store on Barnard is a refreshing take on a piece of Bendigo’s heritage offering truly unique boutique accommodation.
Offering a great location between the grandest old manor in Bendigo, Fortuna Villa, and the CBD, The Old Store is ideally located near several of the best pubs and attractions on offer.

A welcoming house with a great vibe. Thanks so much Cath for your hospitality at the Old Store. We loved staying there, it has a wonderful welcoming feel and is equipped with everything we could have needed. Fantastic location, close to everything. Plenty of room for our group. We will definitely be back!
A home away from home. The house is welcoming and warm, tempting you to stay home in front of the fire rather than explore the sites of Bendigo. All of our guests felt immediately relaxed and chose to sleep in every morning despite my attempts to muster them with bacon and egg rolls. We would definitely consider staying again. It doesn’t feel like a holiday house. It feels like you’re visiting a friend. Ten out of ten.
The Old Store on Barnard is fantastic! We had a girls’ getaway in Bendigo and this property was ideal for 6 women. Everything was exactly as advertised and Cath the host was extremely quick to respond to any requests. I would highly recommend this property to others and I’m sure any of us would stay here again.
